In this post, we'll delve into some of the most effective recovery tools offered at Elevate, including Normatec Boots, Game Ready, and more. Discover what these tools are, when to utilize them, and how they can optimize your recovery process for peak performance. Whether you're rehabilitating an injury, training intensely, or simply seeking relaxation, Elevate has the tools to support your journey towards optimal recovery.
Normatec Boots
Our Normatec Boots decrease muscle soreness and inflammation using areas of compression starting at the foot and working up the leg. This compression massages the musculature and aids the body in circulation. This motion effectively decreases edema and waste build up in the lower limbs, decreasing recovery time, increasing circulation, and reducing swelling. Using the boots on your recovery days or after your training session is best.
2. Game Ready
The Game Ready is a 3 in 1 for recovery. Similar to the Normatec boots, Game Ready offers compression with the addition of hot and cold therapy. Game Ready systems are well known for injury and post operative care but are a great addition to any recovery plan. Using circulating hot water allows for an increase in blood flow and a decrease in muscle tension. This is great for chronic injuries or achy joints. The cold function is best for acute, or new, injuries or tweaks as well as painful, sore, or swollen areas as the decrease in temperature is a great pain modulator and decreases swelling. The addition of compression follows the same merits as the Normatec boots. We have Game Ready attachments for most areas of the body including knee, shoulder, ankle, and low back. Our Game Ready is best used after a gym session but can be used on a stubborn body part prior to your session.
3. Body Care
From FST to Soft Tissue, we have a lot we can do! And our body care providers are always on deck and ready to go whenever an issue comes! FST, also known as Fascial Stretching therapy, is best for when you feel your body is overworked or if you’re experiencing joint pain. FST helps you recover faster, improving blood circulation. Soft tissue is a deep tissue massage that helps release myofascial trigger points that inhibit muscle contraction or cause pain. It’s also another great option for getting rid of annoying knots, tight muscles, etc.
4. Chiropractic Care
For years athletes have used chiropractic care to improve their response and recovery to the demands of the competitive season and training. The best part; you don't have to be in pain to benefit! Most professional athletes have access to - and use - chiropractic care. 72% of golfers in the PGA seek care at tournaments and while on tour. The majority of NBA and 29 of 32 NHL teams retain a chiropractor, and every NFL and MLB team has a chiropractor on staff. The American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians list several advantages such as faster recovery from injury and training, access to a wider range of treatment tools, expertise in preventative strategies, guidance on training and nutrition, and the ability to integrate treatment with training. For those athletes more on the recreational side, faster evaluation of injury or pain source, reduced treatment duration, and corrective exercises to add to your tool belt for long term success.
If you’re an athlete, continuous weightlifter, or just someone who’s passionate about fitness, recovery should also be at the top of your list! Although it’s easy to put it off, the consequences of doing so will show later in the future. Make sure to take some time off, come visit us at Elevate for some recovery options!
